WHO WE ARE

Hunter Parents and Teachers Association of Community Languages Schools Inc (HPTACLS)

We are a not for profit organization based in The Hunter Valley, NSW, Australia, incorporated in July 1996.

Our mission:

Through proudly nurturing inclusive, quality teaching and learning in diverse community languages schools, we are strengthening the multicultural fabric of Australian communities.

Our association receives funding from the Community Languages Schools Program, through the NSW Department of Education.

We have member schools spread from The Lower Hunter and Newcastle Region, to the Central Coast and North Western Sydney.

The Community Languages Schools Program

Nurtures cultural and linguistic diversity

Builds communities

Strengthens family bonds through shared language

Supports pride in ethnic identity

Hunter Community Languages respectfully acknowledges the Awabakal people as the Traditional Custodians of the land where our office is located and upon which many of our member schools meet. We acknowledge that this beautiful country has been cared for by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for over sixty thousand years.
We give thanks to elders past, present and future.
